Terms of Use
Last updated: March 2026
1. About Us
After.surgery ("we", "us", "our") is a website providing general information, guides, product recommendations, and a personal Recovery Planner relating to surgical recovery and wellbeing. We are an independent publisher.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By visiting, browsing, or using any part of after.surgery, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that you accept these Terms of Use in full. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website or your account following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
3. User Accounts
To use the Recovery Planner, you must create an account with a valid email address and a secure password. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential;
- All activity that occurs under your account;
- Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that show signs of abuse or fraud.
4. Subscription Plans and Billing
After.surgery offers a free plan and a range of paid subscription plans for the Recovery Planner. By selecting a paid plan, you agree to the following:
- Recurring billing. Paid subscriptions are charged in advance for the billing period you select (monthly, 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Payment processing. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By providing payment details, you authorise Stripe to charge the applicable subscription fee. We do not store your card details.
- Price changes. We will give you reasonable notice of any changes to subscription pricing before they take effect. Continued use of a paid plan after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge. Access to paid features may be suspended until payment is successfully collected.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at hello@after.surgery. Cancellation stops future renewals. You will retain access to your paid plan features until the end of the current billing period already paid for.
Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account or your recovery data. You may continue to use the free plan after cancelling a paid subscription.
6. Refunds
Our refund policy is set out separately in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms and should be read alongside them. In summary, we offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription purchase, and consider requests on a case-by-case basis thereafter.
7. User-Generated Content
You may upload content to the Recovery Planner, including journal entries, check-in responses, photos, and videos ("Your Content"). You retain full ownership of Your Content. By uploading it, you grant us a limited licence to store and display it solely to operate your Recovery Planner. We do not share Your Content with any third party, use it for advertising, or claim any intellectual property rights over it.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe the rights of others or violate applicable law.
8. Permitted Use
You may access and use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You must not:
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any part of this website without our express written permission;
- Use the site in any way that is unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its supporting systems;
- Transmit any unsolicited advertising, spam, or other promotional material;
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest content or data from the website by automated means without prior written consent.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on after.surgery, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, logos, icons, and page layouts, is the intellectual property of after.surgery or its content contributors, and is protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws.
You may share links to our content and quote brief excerpts with appropriate attribution, but you may not reproduce substantial portions of our content without written permission.
10. Affiliate Links and Commercial Relationships
After.surgery participates in the Amazon Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn commissions by linking to Amazon. We may also participate in other affiliate programmes from time to time.
When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. We have no other advertising relationships, paid placements, or commercial arrangements with product manufacturers or healthcare providers. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial independence.
All affiliate relationships are disclosed in accordance with applicable advertising regulations and consumer protection guidelines.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
This website and the Recovery Planner are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

- Any information on the site is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your particular purposes;

12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, after.surgery, its owners, editors, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website, the Recovery Planner, or any content on it, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or personal injury.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.
13. Medical Content and Health Information
All health and medical information on this site is subject to our separate Medical Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms of Use and should be read in conjunction with them. Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice. The Recovery Planner is a personal tracking tool, not a clinical service.
14. Third-Party Links
Our website contains links to third-party websites and services. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party sites and accept no responsibility for them. Accessing any third-party site via a link on after.surgery is entirely at your own risk.
15. Privacy
Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices, including how we handle your recovery health data and payment information.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless after.surgery and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the website or any violation of these Terms.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Use are governed by applicable law. Any dispute or claim arising from or related to these Terms or your use of this website shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts relevant to your location, as determined by applicable law.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed from the remaining Terms, which shall remain in full force and effect.
19. Contact
If you have any questions about these Terms of Use, please contact us at hello@after.surgery. We aim to respond to all enquiries within a reasonable timeframe.
